The day Marley Sue came into our lives is a day we will never forget. It was love at first sight. As we were mourning the loss of our other dog Booger, we were on the search for the perfect dog for our family. As we were touring the Lawrence County Humane Society, Pap (Doug) walked past Rachel and there was no turning back. After what seemed to be the longest week to wait for us to bring her home she was our dog! After spending just a few minutes with the sweet gentle soul she was, Marley Sue was the perfect name to fit her soul.
Marley had a special bond with everyone, but when she was just a pup she spent a lot of time with pap while he was off with his wrist surgery. They spent their days visiting Grandma and Aunt Dee. Marley had a way with people. Grandma loved on Marley way more than any other animal. Marley touched everyone hearts. Jason, Marley's cousin, fell in love with Marley and was on the hunt for a family dog that was just like Marley Sue. Jackson was brought into the family because of Marley.
Once Pap went back to work and Mum was working, Marley needed a friend. Jake came into Marley's life to keep her company. They grew up together and will forever be lifelong companions.
When it comes to the seasons, Marley was not a fan of spring, summer, or fall. She disliked all the loud noises, gun shots, fireworks, etc. But when it came to winter, Marley Sue was made for it. She loved the cold weather and being outside in the snow. Just like any little kid, Marley loved making doggie snow angels! A memory we will never forget is one summer day when Marley got snug by a bee right in the face. Her poor face swelled up and she looked just like a little black walrus!
Everyone loved Marley, but some of the favorite things we will never forget is all of her little quirks. Marley would wake Mum and Pap up with a "Marley bath" every day. Marley was our little shadow even if that was coming into the bathroom while we were using it, or laying by the shower waiting for us to be out.
Marley had a room made for a queen! Her room was equipped with air conditioner, couch, a doggie door, and the perfect view of the yard. She could bark at the deer, squirrel, and barn cats whenever she wanted. She spent most of her time in her room.
Marley enjoyed eating watermelon, carrots, popsicle, and of course treats. Her morning routine included a banana for breakfast that she looked forward to every day! Often times Pap would say "Did you eat the dog that I brought home?" because Marley loved her special treats!
Marley was known as the riding shotgun queen! She loved riding in the quads, side by side, and truck as long as she was in the front seat where she can see the view! Marley Sue loved people and people loved her! She also loved when the next door neighbor dog would sneak down and play with her. They would run together for hours playing and barking!
Marley, Silky, Beauty Queen, Sweet Pea were just a few nicknames that Marley will be known for. Her gentle soul, and sweet kisses will forever be missed by everyone.
